Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is there a difference in the color of the rings?
The rings come in 4 different colors: Terracotta Red, Bright Yellow, Salvia Purple, and Abundant Green. The rings were designed in different colors to help you coordinate the garden layout and attract pollinators. While there is no functional difference between the colors, the yellow and purple are better for attracting pollinators while the red rings have been scientifically proven to increase yield in tomato plants.
2. How many rings come in a pack?
Each pack has 4 rings. We also offer commercial pro-packs with larger quantities. Contact us info@growinring.com for more information.
3. How do the rings help save water?
The rings hold the water around the bottom of the plant until the water has had time to "sink" downwards towards the roots instead of evaporating on the surface of the soil.
4. Do the rings come in different sizes?
We currently offer the 7" round ring. We have future plans to offer different sizes for trees and larger bushes/plants.
5. What happens when the plant outgrows the ring?
The grow rings are designed to be installed when the plant is a seedling and left on throughout the life of the plant. The 7" diameter ring will fit most vegetable, flower, and herb plants.
6. What is the small hole used for on the side of the ring?
The 1/4" diameter hole on the side of the ring is intended to hold 1/4" drip tubing, eliminating the need for separate drip line mounting stakes.
7. What is the function of the ridges on the outside of the grow ring?
The ridges are added to the outside of the ring to help provide a level of protection against crawling pests such as slugs. It creates an "obstacle" for the slugs to maneuver before being able to reach the plant.
